                             ———THERE WAS A PAUSE AS VAST AS HIS GAZE WAS NARROW. fingers made their way to the tub of sugar packets, plucking one from the bunch and pulling at each side to open it without a tear. he considered his cappuccino for a moment, the faint aroma wafting through the milk foam. rather pour the sweetener into the already rich cup, he dipped a pair of fingers into the crease and stuck a pinch of raw sugar into his mouth. lips pressed together into an ingenuine smile.
